Simulated anterior tibialis
Summary Description
The initial section provides an aide-memoire to the mechanisms of drug action at the neuromuscular junction; it is for revision and is not a comprehensive review. The main section contains the simulation. Various drugs (see below) can be injected (mostly intravenously, but some by close intra-arterial injection) and since this is an in vivo preparation will only gradually wear off. Electrical stimulation can be applied at 0.05Hz, 0.5Hz, switched off completely or as a brief tetanus. The sequence and dose of drugs employed is entirely in the hands of the user. It is possible to move backwards and forwards in the experimental record to review results obtained previously in the current experiment. Parts of the record may be printed to provide hardcopy material to assemble into a written report.
